jitter.is is a client-side network testing tool. When you use the jitter test on this website, all measurements are performed by JavaScript code running in your web browser. The latency readings, jitter values, and packet loss percentages you see are computed locally and are never sent anywhere.
When you run a test, your browser makes HTTP fetch requests directly to third-party servers (Cloudflare, Google, GitHub, etc.) to measure round-trip time. These requests go from your browser to those third-party servers — they do not pass through jitter.is servers.
The target servers may log your IP address and request metadata according to their own privacy policies. When testing against Google endpoints, Google's privacy policy applies. When testing against Cloudflare, Cloudflare's privacy policy applies.
jitter.is loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google may log requests for these font files. You can find Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Our domain DNS and potential CDN services may be provided by Cloudflare, which processes connection metadata per their privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
jitter.is does not set any cookies. We do not use localStorage or sessionStorage for tracking. Any browser storage used is solely for storing your in-session test preferences (e.g., selected target server) and is cleared when you close the browser tab.
jitter.is is a general internet utility tool suitable for all ages. Since we collect no personal information from any user, there is no specific risk to users under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR minors provisions).
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we collect no personal data, changes are unlikely to affect users in practice.
